A masjid born from a halaqah.
Al-Maqari Al-Qur'aniyyah UK Masjid grew out of the Al-Maqari Al-Qurʾāniyyah halaqāt at the Open Door Community Centre, Southfields. Today it serves the community of Southfields and the wider Wandsworth borough as a place of prayer, study, and gathering.
The masjid began as a weekly Tuesday halaqah led by Shaykh Mūsā Abuzaghleh. Over nine years it has grown into a daily congregation, hosting the Jumuʿah khutbah, weekly tafsīr, and circles for children, sisters, and brothers across all five daily prayers.
We are part of the wider Al-Maqari Al-Qurʾāniyyah UK institute, which now operates ten halaqāt across London and the rest of the UK.
UK-born, raised in Jordan. Holds ijāzah in the riwāyah of Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim from Shaykh Galāl Salem, and continues his studies with the mashāyikh of Madīnah.
